Artist's Statement

Sometimes when I have a bad day I like to take a bath and submerge my head into the water. Underwater the sounds become muffled, which creates a quiet and serene atmosphere. However, the silence makes me more aware of myself and my thoughts, leaving me prey to my angry emotions that swirl within me just like the tumultuous bath water. In this photograph I wanted to show that while people can appear very calm on the outside, underneath their strong exterior may lie a very vulnerable self with raging emotions close to bursting out.
